About
Castle Wall

Castle
Wall Productions is a theatrical combat troupe specializing in
live-steel entertainment, portraying many characters, fictional and
historical, based in 1194 AD England. We perform several different
types of shows, including themed faires, weddings, and various other
social functions. Our shows can be performed in a variety of venues,
whether indoors, outdoors, on grass, pavement, or stage. The show
itself typically runs between 15 minutes, to one hour in length, and
can be supplimented by various "extras", including a behind the scenes
look at our show, a complete "in-character" tournament, and various
street fights and complex interactions between the characters, and with
the audience.
The story that our show portrays is a mix of several legends, books,
and films, with characters not only from popular fantasy, but also real
historical figures, and a few original additions. The central story is
the age-old fight between the outlaw Robin Hood and the notorious
Sherrif of Nottingham, including such characters as the Lady Marion,
the dark Ranora, Black Knight, Little John, Guy of Gisbourne, and
Alan-a-Dale. In addition, the story of Ivanhoe and his arch-nemesis
Brian de Bois Gilbert unfolds as the two struggle over Lady Rowena and
Lady Rebecca. Many other characters wage their own personal battles, as
their alliegances to the Norman or Saxon sides become apparent. Good
and Evil lock in mortal combat, in the no-holds-barred battle that is
Prince John's Grand Coronation Tournament.

Would
you like to be a part of the premeir live steel theatrical combat
troupe in Colorado? Would you like to fight, die, and live to fight
another day? Who would you side with; the forces of the tyrannical
Prince John and the Sherrif of Nottingham, or the defiant and noble
Robin Hood and the chivalrous knight Ivanhoe?
Castle Wall Productions has members that are male and female from age
five and above (our current oldest member is 65). Castle Wall
Productions welcomes members from any background, talent, ethnicity,
religion, and level of skill. We have several different types of
membership, including actors, fighters, or crafters, all depending on
your level of comittment, such as full time, swing shift, and
auxillary.
We train our members in theatrical choreographed combat with safety as
the prime concern. Several of our weapon forms include English
broadsword, axe, heavy weapons, short sword, dagger, staff, shield,
hand to hand, and
stunts, both in and out of several types of armor. Our combat trainers
are Castle Wall Certified in their respective areas of expertise and
strive to train our members in the best possible live theatrical combat
east of Hollywood.
Castle Wall Productions produces most of its own gear, and as such its
members also have the ability to learn several medieval non-combative
"lost arts" such as chain weaving, leather working, and several sewing
techniques. As always, participation is on a volunteer basis.
Castle Wall also welcomes your particular talents, as we have a
merchandising, public relations, fully certified medical, and a
motorpool team.
Our group's full time members meet every Sunday, year-round, rain or
shine, to practice at 11AM - 3PM, and individual teams meet on unique
schedules designed around their respective needs and members. As our
show season comes closer, usually in April, all our members don
medieval clothing and armor for practice, and get ready for our
performances at
various venues.
Currently our main performances venues include the following:
OPUS Fantasy Arts
Festival
Colorado
Medieval Festival
Elizabeth
Celtic Festival
Colorado Scottish
Festival
FAMR/RRCC Fantasy Revel
We do a number of other events throughout the season, such as
demonstrations for the Boy Scouts of America, weddings, parades,
ethnic diversity gatherings, community service events, and church
events.
