Karen Casey Shrum – Karen (Casey) was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 23, 1949. She moved to Denver in 1963. She is currently working at Super Target, but her favorite job was when she was working for Gunther Toodies. At one of her previous jobs, for a title company, she earned the accolade of Employee of the Year. She once acted in Tom Sawyer. She has been in Castle Wall since 2006 and has played in the roles of Lady Ulrica (2006), Fanny Little (2006), and the Prioress of Kirklees Abbey (2007). She earned the CWP Knight’s Award for 2007. She enjoys cross-stitching and collecting teddy bears, stamps and thimbles. When she is not slinging steel, Karen can be found watching movies or spending time with her family, including her 10 grandchildren. She is working on overcoming her fears. She will be reprising her role of the Prioress of Kirklees Abbey for the 2008 season.
